Harper’s Bazaar isn’t the only magazine having a party. Essence is having their first-ever Street Style Block Party & Awards on September 7th at The Dumbo Archway in Brooklyn, under the Manhattan bridge. With live music, shopping, art installations, and a Street Style fashion show, the event is sure to add a fun element to the week’s festivities. “The Essence Street Style Block Party & Awards not only puts real women front and center with unique celebration of self-expression, but adds a fresh, fierce element to New York Fashion Week for Fans and Influencers alike,” said magazine editor-in-chief Vanessa Bush. “Street style applauds real women and fashion tastemakers who are setting the trends and bring inspiration from the catwalk to the sidewalk.” Expect to see Vanessa Simmons and singer Jazmine Sullivan as hosts of the fashion show.
