How to Get Rid of Frown Lines

teewhy-hive.blogspot.co.uk
When you’re young, you think your smooth, line-free complexion will last forever. But as you start to age, those stubborn frown lines between your brows pop up, seemingly out of nowhere, slowly getting deeper and deeper (and deeper…and deeper…).

No matter how happy or positive you actually are in your life, frown lines—known as “elevens” to dermatologists—can mar your complexion, making you look angry. While Botox has become known as the gold standard for wrinkle busting, it’s by no means the only solution out there. (And we’re not talking about the popular anti-wrinkle trick among actresses and models: refusing to smile!)
From vitamins to products to procedures, here’s what to do to beat the dreaded frown lines—or better yet, avoid them altogether.
PROCEDURES
There’s a reason dermatological procedures are so beloved by those fighting the frown: they work! The granddaddy of them all is Botox, which works by injecting Botulinum toxin into the wrinkle and causing it to relax. Botox can last for up to six months. Two other injectable options are Dysport and Xeomin, which are similar to Botox and have the benefit of being cheaper, but might spread out more than Botox. Chemical peels are another great option, smoothing the surface of the skin to help lines appear smaller. Finally, if after Botox you still have a crease remaining, you may consider filling it with a temporary hyaluronic acid filler, such as Restylane or Juvederm, which will plump up the line and help your brow appear more smooth and line-free.
DIET
As skin ages, it begins to lose elasticity and volume. By injecting vitamin and antioxidant-rich foods like wild salmon and mackerel, cod liver oil, walnuts, and flaxseeds, you can help provide yourself with critical omega-3 fatty acids. (The lazier solution: simply pop an omega-3 vitamin daily.) On the Danger! list of foods to avoid? Sugar, juice, soda, and highly processed foods, all of which can cause inflammation and lead to wrinkles.
PRODUCTS
With the popularity of wrinkle-smoothing products at an all-time high, there’s an entire skincare category devoted to lotions and potions that either provide instant plumpness or help reduce the appearance of lines over time. Try The Ordinary Argireline Solution 10% ($8), Boots No 7 Instant Illusion Wrinkle Filler ($20), Shiseido Benefiance Wrinkle Resist24 ($60), or Goldfaden Needle-less Line Smoothing Concentrate ($115). And, of course, no conversation about wrinkle-busting products would be complete without mentioning the old Hollywood standby, Frownies ($17), which claim to help train the facial muscles not to contract, avoiding new wrinkles entirely.
